This Means War! by Petra [VIDEO]

By michaelcriner · Comments (1)

I shared this video with Ben the other day because he’d never heard of Petra. It’d definitely a great 1980′s pump up song… if only he knew that I’d play this as loud as my mom would let me on my CD player.

I’m not a fan of Dexter, but this is a sweet cover on the theme [VIDEO]

I don’t advocate murder (like this show does), nor taking justice in your own hands (like this show does), nor am I a fan of sensationalizing death (like this show does). BUT – this video is a sweet cover of the theme song, which I am a fan of.

Don’t buy this Album if…

By michaelcriner · Comments (3)
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

… you don’t want to be forced to think and help the marginalized.

Brett Mills dropped an advance release into my hands of their new CD “Never Too Far” the other day. As of November 1st (yesterday), it was officially released. You can buy it on iTunes, but I’d suggest buying it straight from their site: www.brettandemilymills.com

Brett gave me this advance release so that I could listen, then tell all of you about it… so you would be compelled to buy it for yourself. You should. You must. But don’t buy it if you’re looking for another tune to play mechanically in the background while you sip a latte, because these songs won’t allow you to do that.

This album is different. These songs tell a story… the story of Brett and Emily’s journey of love to, for and with the marginalized. The forgotten people who often find themselves left out and alone. The visually abused. The person who feels trapped in the adult entertainment business, that’s right – strippers. They are strategically caring for, loving, and helping these women who often can’t find any way out. You buying this album actually helps this organization… and you should.

So, don’t buy this album if you’re looking for more casual listening music. You can’t do that with this album as each note tells a story from along the way of JESUS SAID LOVE. You need this album in your library because it will cause, as it did in me, to rethink about those misplaced and marginalized by society. You cannot ignore the need any more.

Be blessed and bless them.

Do yourself a favor and purchase this CD

I realize that I’m a little behind here, but the latest Passion CD: Awakening was released 3.9.2010 – and if you know anything about that date, Adele was born. So I hadn’t had a chance to download or listen to the latest from Passion Ministries. It is actually some recordings from Passion2010 that Abigail and I were able to attend January 2-5 of 2010. The next event is in 2011 and I’m hoping to attend that one as well!

So – purchase this CD today… it will bless your soul.

Tim Hughes’ live worship in London CD is good enough for you to buy

I picked up this CD really for one song along: “When I Survey.” Tim takes an old-time hymn and he re-makes the musical pattern and rhythm. I think he improves it greatly, or at least brings out the words for me. That being said, I would reccomend this CD to you with confidence. I’m a sucker for live worship sets for some reason – but this one has been a great one to have on this afternoon. Thanks to Ben Moore for introducing this song to us a First Woodway.

My friend Ben Dudley (Community Pastor at UBC) has one of the best self-deprecating video I’ve seen in a long time. He gave me permission to share the video and so I did.

Don’t Waste Your Life Video – Lecrae

By michaelcriner · Comments (0)
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

A great video from Lecrae (part of reachrecords) about not wasting your life.  For those who aren’t familiar to hip hop and may not be able to follow the video; Lecrae & his buddy were both criminals in the past, and his friend escaped the police during their burglary while Lecrae ended up getting locked up and discovering Jesus while in jail… his friend went on to be wealthy and then received the letter from Lecrae who’s telling him about Jesus Christ and how his life can be changed and be given meaning and hope.  Hope you enjoy the video.

You can also check out his tour schedule HERE.
