Most Popular for October

No, I cannot believe it either: October is over. That being said, here are the most popular reads from the blog this month:

  1. Abby’s Craftiness – apparently, everyone is amazed at Abigail’s ability to make things from felt, string, and the two hands God gave her. I’ll say this – I’m not so much amazed as much as I am impressed with her. She’s going to be a great mom!
  2. Early Prayers – this was a post I did of a prayer I prayed (and have been praying) for our little girl. We still don’t have a name, for now we’ll just call her “Daddy’s girl.” ;-)
  3. Can you sum up your 40 minute talk in less than 2 minutes - everyone seemed to really like this post because well… it was about keeping things to the point.
  4. Boy or Girl? Take the Poll – a ton of you took the poll… 60% of you were right.
  5. No Phone Friday – this was a short post sharing that I was giving up the phone for this particular Friday… so if you called me on this day I didn’t answer and I didn’t notice.
At the time of this posting, 20,376 of you have visited the site. That’s a small town. Thanks for reading.

enjoy.

Most Popular for September

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Below are the most popular posts for the month of September. The blogging has slowed down a little bit with ministry being in full swing. Abigail and I’ve also had quite a busy month with weddings and family visiting… but, here’s a reminder of what most of you read!

  1. SPRING BREAK BABY! – this one got a number of hits… hopefully because of the announcement we made with it, although I’m afraid others found it because they’re making their spring break plans now. Either way – we’re having a baby!
  2. Unresolved Conflict - this big hit has somewhat come as a surprise to me. It’s made me aware that so many people have conflict with others and they need to resolve it but don’t know how. This is one of the biggest things I deal with almost on a daily basis with students.
  3. 09/09/09 And Abigail’s Birthday – I made some MAJOR brownie points with this post! In fact, people from my hometown even made mention of it to my mom – which makes her smile. Plus – Abby liked it, which matters most.
  4. Church Theme Song – I really don’t want to comment on this… therefore, I won’t.
  5. Discipling College Students  / c2s2i Model – this has been huge for us the past few days… I’m looking forward to what else God has for us!

Well, that’s all I’ve got right now… maybe tomorrow I’ll give a round kick of an update.

enjoy.

09/09/09 And Abigail’s Birthday

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Okay – so many of us know all the juicy details in regards to the day all the stars lined up and was filled with 9. This will be Abigail’s last birthday without a baby in tow. Birthday’s being married are WAY different from when you’re dating someone… I mean, seriously – like you have to really work at being creative when you’re married because you’re going to be with that person the rest of your life (which is really awesome, but I’m running out of ideas for her birthday folks!).

That being the case, this year Abby turned 27 (here are some facts about the number 27) but she also was having her birthday on 09/09/09. Thus, what makes the day interesting has to do with the number 9… and of course here are a few facts about the number 9 and Abigail’s birthday:

  1. Abby is 27: 2+7=9
  2. 09/09/09 is the 252nd day of the year…2+5+2=9
  3. 27/9 = 3 which is also the SQRT(9)
  4. The number of letters in ‘Wednesday’ equals 9 (which was the day her birthday was on)
  5. The number of letters in ‘September’ equals 9 (which is the month her birthday is in)
  6. I bought her 9 gifts, see below. (I’m broke… can anyone send me a dollar??)
  7. We went to see District 9 (UN-BELIEVABLE… Chris Johnson come back soon!)
  8. 09/09/09 will be the last single digit month/day/year combo of our lifetime (01/01/2101 is the next on the list).
  9. Here are 9 facts about 9:

9 is the largest single digit number in the decimal system.
9 is the smallest odd number that isn’t a prime, except for 1 and all the negative odd numbers.
9 is the smallest odd square integer, except for 1.
9 is 6 upside down, which means that 9/9/09 upside down is 60/6/6, somewhat like the number of the beast.
9 is the number of planets if you count Pluto.
9 times 9 is 81, and 8 plus 1 is 9.
9 is the number of the best cloud.
9 is the official integer of the Beatles White album.
9 is the number of fingers on an inattentive wood shop worker.

ANYWHO…

I took Abigail to The Olive Branch for lunch and it was a really good meal… I highly recommend. Below are the 9 different gifts I bought Abigail for her birthday:

Olive Branch Fan?

2009 August 13

by abigailcrinerphotography

If you have any connection with Waco, you have most likely heard of the Olive Branch.  This place was one of the first places I ate when we moved to Waco….Not including the Jack in the Box by our hotel/home for the first three weeks of our time here (not a good memory).  Anyway, the food is amazing.  This past year the Olive Branch moved locations…I think everyone secretly rejoiced when it reopened.

My friend Genevieve does so much designing for local organizations, churches and businesses.  She asked me to photograph Waco at night for the new Olive Branch coffee labels.  I love getting different projects, but Waco/downtown/nighttime = SCARY!  Michael came along…to protect me:)

But here is the final product.  I am just honored that they used my photos.  Genevieve did a fantastic job of visioning and designing…and well the Olive Branch rocks!

By the way…this is now my husbands favorite coffee.
