Our evening at the Joy Neely concert [PHOTO]

On Sunday night, we made our way to Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple, TX for the concert of Joy Neely. Her and her husband Chase are part of our Home Group at church. They are dear friends.

Joy so happens to be a trained musician (vocal) from Belmont University in Nashville. Chase is too, but whatever.

Joy invited Abby to be backup vocals, and she did awesome! It was a great night to be with friends… I also had extended time with Adele, and I just soaked it up!

Evidence of God Everywhere

It seems that people are genuinely searching for God. It’s a humbling and honest pursuit… but sometimes it becomes a little more like “magic” rather than Jesus literally showing up in a sandwich. I would rather say that when we talk about the omniscience of God, we’re not talking about Jesus being in an X-ray, rather his presence being near.

Below are some pictures that people have found that have a striking resemblance of Jesus… and the great lengths people will go to connect to God, without finding him.

Earlier this year, our Church asked us not to do a Hoedown because of some of the implications of what takes place at “Hoedowns”… I agreed, because well, I don’t like dancing that much and it wasn’t something I really wanted to argue about because to me, dancing (square dancing that is) really is innocent BUT openhanded. It’s not something to argue, and it’s certainly not a hill I want to die on.

Then I found these “tickets” for a Disco Inferno (I’ll assume this was for the College Ministry before I arrived). I just thought it was funny. Disco is allowed, but square-dancing isn’t! HA. As a side note – this post is all in good fun. I love my church.

Olive Branch Fan?

If you have any connection with Waco, you have most likely heard of the Olive Branch. This place was one of the first places I ate when we moved to Waco….Not including the Jack in the Box by our hotel/home for the first three weeks of our time here (not a good memory). Anyway, the food is amazing. This past year the Olive Branch moved locations…I think everyone secretly rejoiced when it reopened.

My friend Genevieve does so much designing for local organizations, churches and businesses. She asked me to photograph Waco at night for the new Olive Branch coffee labels. I love getting different projects, but Waco/downtown/nighttime = SCARY! Michael came along…to protect me:)

But here is the final product. I am just honored that they used my photos. Genevieve did a fantastic job of visioning and designing…and well the Olive Branch rocks!

By the way…this is now my husbands favorite coffee.
