Several thoughts:
1. Matt Redman is a gift to the church
2. I absolutely love the title and it’s implications… we have 10,000 reasons to love God.
3. I appreciate him recording this live with people singing along – I think often in the studio, there is this element lost on worship music.
My favorite statement?
“There is a dynamic when the people of God, in the presence of God pouring out the praise of God. I really think it’s unrivaled on the face of the earth outside of the worshiping church.” -Matt Redman

Rich, Associate to the Youth at our church was ordained tonight. It was a packed room! Awesome time, and thankful I’ve been able to know Rich & his wife Meagan.
This breakdown comes via the online psychology degree website. It’s actually a sad statistic and why we must fight sin that creeps within the home, our phones, our computers. Please pray for the people in our nation as men AND women struggle with this. May the church help our people got to WAR with this problem in all of us.

I’ve been invited to preach at our two main worship services this coming Sunday. It’s a great joy to be given the opportunity to preach at our church, and my rule of thumb is to never turn down an opportunity from my Pastor. As part of my prep, I came across this article from William H. Willimon titled, “Voice Lessons: Learning to Preach” and found it humbling and challenging.
He reflects on the movie The King’s Speech, which is about King George VI of England, a miserably shy, stammering man who is thrust unwillingly onto the world stage. Here’s a quote that stuck out to me:
As king, George was forced to read aloud other people’s words as if they were his own. We preachers speak not because we need to get something off our chests but because God wants to say something to God’s people.
Sometimes I’m invited to “just share what’s on your heart.” Alas, as an ordained spokesperson for the gospel, I’m not free to engage in such self-indulgence. Left to my own devices, I might say what I’m really thinking—but the church could care less about what I’m thinking. The pressing question: “Is there any word from the Lord?“
Prayerfully, I might be used by God to deliver his message to His people.
The other night, I was researching some logos for music ministries. Don’t ask why… sometimes I just get on these kicks. Here were some of the best worst.
This comes from Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. God bless them, but they’ve got like four presidents… does this logo look like they’re trying to catch the dove? Or did they just release it?

This one comes from Mableton Pentecostal Church – this covers music, the cross… so it’s got to be good!

I think this picture from RLM “Red Letter Ministry Christian Music” says it all. What do you get when you cross two guitars on a website? RLM.

Nothing better than the treble clef holding bacon. Thanks Saint Albert The Great Catholic Church!
This was all in good fun. My intent was not to be vindictive or rude in the process.

See the resemblance?
enjoy.
