I was praying for our church the other day, and this verse came to mind:
“For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” Ps. 62:5-8
I’m not sure what you’re walking through right now, but my prayer for you (and us!) is that we would put our hope and trust in Him! As followers of Jesus, I want us to trust in Him! He is a rock. He is steady, He doesn’t falter. In a culture that constantly promises security but fails us each time, only He is our provider and only He is steady.
You may be frustrated at the current place in your relationship with Him, or frustrated with your current employment, or your marriage is fraying to pieces – my encouragement to you is this – pour out your heart before Him. I think often times we NEGLECT to say anything to God because we’re afraid of how God will respond… trust me, you are never out of the reach of God’s grace!
So, rest in Him today! Wait in silence. Pour out your heart. He listens… He will speak, just in His timing. Soon, all things will be made clear. When we forget this truth, we are prone to indifference, and doubt.
Take some time this week to pray, think, journal, and go for a walk with God pouring out your heart to Him – with the aim to trust Him at all times. May God move the mountains of indifference in our hearts.
