If you’ve ever been curious as to if the gospel is in the Old Testament – then you need to read this book.
If you’ve ever felt God was punishing you because you’ve had some ‘storms’ in your life – then you need to read this book.
If you’ve ever felt the hand of God couldn’t reach you because you were “too far gone in sin” – then you need to read this book.
If you’ve ever wondered if God actually cared for you – then you need to read this book.
If you’ve ever needed to know that God is for you and not against you – then you need to read this book.
All in all, Tullian Tchividjian does a masterful job of communicating God’s grace and passionate pursuit of us within the context of the story of Jonah. He writes in a comfortable fashion while also dealing faithfully to the text. He retells this familiar story yet you can easily see yourself in the story… because those of us who are saved can easily share of our grace story and how God pursued us into salvation. Tullian also shares faithfully that the gospel is not for Non-Chrstians, but for Christians too. We all must daily remind ourselves of how God has and is working in us…
All in all, I was deeply encouraged by this book and I think you will be too.
