How Jesus’ Disciples Died

As I was preparing for the sermon on Sunday, I came across this list that actually shares how each disciple of Jesus died. Oh to be a quarter of a man like them. How trivial my life is compared to these brave men. Read these and may your heart be stirred with affection for Jesus:

•Peter, crucified upside-down in Rome circa 64 A.D.
•James, son of Zebedee was beheaded in 44 A.D., first of the twelve to die
•John, son of Zebedee, natural causes due to old age, last of the twelve to die, only one of the twelve to die naturally (as mentioned by Christ at the end of his (John) Gospel.)
•Andrew, Peter’s brother, was crucified upon a diagonal cross.
•Philip was crucified in 54 A.D.
•Bartholomew (also known as Nathaniel) was flayed alive (skinned) and then beheaded.
•Matthew killed by a halberd (large axe) in 60 A.D.
•Thomas was killed by a spear in Mylapore, Madras, India in AD 72.
•James, son of Alphaeus, beaten to death with a club after being crucified and stoned.
•Saint Jude was crucified.
•Simon the Zealot was crucified in 74 A.D.
•Matthias, Judas’ replacement, was stoned and beheaded.

How old was Mary when she gave birth to JESUS? How old was Joseph? What happened to Joseph, he is not talked about at all after JESUS’s birth.

    • In regards to Mary, we don’t really know for sure – but history shares with us that she was young, but of age to conceive and marry… which was NOT uncommon in Biblical times.

In regards to Joseph, the Scriptures are silent. Historians indicate that he most likely died.

Should Mary be prayed to like we pray to JESUS, Is Mary considered a Saint?

    • NO.
      &
      NO.

Why? Jesus told us that we should pray to the Father, not to any other person.

Did Jesus have a normal child hood, did he have friends, played games, dated girls, It’s my undersatanding that HE came to experience all man was experincing does that include good times and the painful times. Did he have a desire to have sex? was HE a good boy all the time or did he get into mischeif ?

I love the LORD and HE loves me, just want to know more about HIM, Thanks.

    • The Scriptures are silent of his early days, but if the book of Hebrews is accurate, Jesus had as much a normal life as we did – with the exception of sin. He never sinned. If Jesus would have sinned, then He could NOT have born our sins on the cross.

Any speculation of “mischief” or claiming that He did get in juvenile things, is merely speculation and not grounded on anything other than that: speculation.

      Thanks for your questions.
