That’s right folks – okay, both of you… we’re headed to El Paso, Tx for Christmas. My (Michael) Father’s Mother (Maw-Maw) lives in the good-ole town of El Paso.
Home of the Diablos.
Home of the Rhinos.
Home of the Brawlers. (please go to this site)
Home of University of Texas at El Paso.
Home of Fort Bliss.
Here’s some interesting facts about this good ole’ town:
-El Paso is the fourth-largest city in Texas, the biggest border city (and the 22nd-largest city of any kind) in America, and almost as close to Los Angeles as to Houston.
-El Paso actually was the site of the first Thanksgiving in April of 1598 predating the Pilgrims initial Thanksgiving by 23 years.
-El Paso is the third safest city in the United States per an FBI study.
-El Paso is located in the westernmost corner of Texas, right where Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico come together. It lies 710 miles east of Los Angeles, 670 miles northwest of Houston, 565 miles southwest of Dallas, and 710 miles south of Denver. El Paso is 1,250 miles from Chicago, and roughly 1,835 miles from New York or Philadelphia. (you’re welcome).
-El Paso has no state, county, or city income tax.
-Men’s Health Magazine (June 2006) has just ranked El Paso as being one of the Top 10 Happiest Cities in America for the 2nd straight year. El Paso ranked 8th in all of the United States.
-4th best city for migraine sufferers.
Ironically, if you voted for San Antonio; you were partially right… we’re in San Antonio currently hanging out with my brother and sister-in-law along with their two kidos (Pierson & Lexi).

enjoy.
