Wednesday night Abigail and I took a team from our church to their hotel as they were leaving the next morning for Thailand. Since we were in the area, Abigail agreed to let us go to see U23D at the I-Max. Let me just say this; it was a technological show and tell. From the varity of camera angles along with (I can’t even guess how many) tons of 3D camera angles – it was quite impressive. If not magical.
At first, Vertigo came on and I didn’t know where to look. The angles, the ears, the senses completely overloaded (not a bad thing) – but my whole being was adjusting to this new use of digital technology. Once I became acoustomed to Bono wiping tears off my face, Larry (drummer) playing drums in my lap, Adam almost assaulting me with his bass guitar, and the Edge wipping of some sweet licks in front of my face… it was breathtaking.
I know this isn’t the best review, but I would simply reccommend this experience for everyone – U2 in 3D at the I-Max… you won’t be dissapointed. Here’s a picture of Abigail and I before the show:
Again: the experince was so worth it.
